Victrix Chardonnay
Wine
Alkoomi Victrix Chardonnay draws from vines planted in 1993, one of the older blocks on Alkoomi's Frankland River vineyards.
Like each wine in Alkoomi's Icon range, Victrix Chardonnay is named after a variety of eucalypt.
After an early morning harvest, the handpicked fruit is pressed to tank and allowed to settle overnight. The juice is fermented in new, one year old and two year old French oak barrels.
The wine matures on lees for eight months, then is blended and bottled without fining.
Pale yellow with green flecks, Alkoomi Victrix Chardonnay has rich fruit flavours, a creamy texture and a bright, lingering acid profile. Cellaring potential is five years.
